DSS #13

H-13P is a specially refined H-13 type steel that has been melted and formed to meet or exceed the die-casting industry's specifications for cleanliness and toughness.

Grade Name:	H-13P (DSS #13)
Chemistry:	C Ni Mo V .40% 5.20% 1.20% 1.00%
Applications:	Die Cast Dies (Aluminum - Brass - Magnesium - Zinc) Extrusion Dies Core Pins Ejector Pins Hot Upset Dies Plungers Dummy Blocks Plastic Molds Forging Dies Shot Sleeves
Heat Treatment:	Annealing temperature: 1575º F/1625º F - Furnace cool Hardening: Vacuum  Furnace - Minimum 5-Bar Austenitizing temp.: 1875º F/1900º F Quench Medium: (Air) Vacuum - cooling > 50º/min. Tempering: between 450º F to 1100º F depending on required hardness.
Welding Specs:	Weld Rod: H-13 Pre-Heat 750º F Post-Heat 1200º F for annealed stock Post-Heat 50º F less than the last tempering temperature.
Surface Coating:	H-13P is capable of receiving many of today's surface coatings.  Check with your DSS sales representative or with any of the quality coatings companies.
